Importance of the Inner Smile

There is one other skill that will greatly speed your exciting journey to Enlightenment. It's the secret of Taoist inner soul alchemy, a simple practice called the Inner Smile. It assures that your innermost heart is present every moment of your daily life, and especially during your practice of Tai Chi for Enlightenment. It magically opens of your chi flow. One of my many masters taught me, "If you smile while practicing tai chi, your chi is ten times more powerful!"

To make sure you understand how the Inner Smile is different from the ordinary Outer Smile, I have written a 130 page book which ordinarily costs $20. It is titled The Way of the Inner Smile: Self-Acceptance as Tao Path to Peace.

I am going to give this book to you FREE, for subscribing to my free newsletter Chi Flows Naturally. This book has 28 pages of photos of the world's most incredible Inner Smiles. I am positive that you will treasure this gift as much the newsletters.

This book is also the result of many decades of research into the most simple and powerful meditation tools available to humankind. Some people think they can't meditate, but everyone knows how to smile. The power of Taoist meditation is always to tap what happens spontaneously in nature. The ancient masters had an extraordinary genius that allowed them to take a simple ability like smiling and turn it into a powerful pathway to Enlightenment.

If you want to read the table of contents and the introductory chapter to Way of the Inner Smile, just click here. Of course, should you decide to unsubscribe to the Chi Flows Naturally newsletter, you can keep this marvelous Inner Smile book as my gift towards your journey of Enlightenment.

Inspiring and Calming Rated 10 out of 10
I just finished the book you sent me, Part 1 of the lessons. I found it engrossing and inspiring. It almost instantly calmed me, but I am in great turmoil with many changes going on in my life and all around me. I can easily see how this helps one to cope with the stresses of daily life and being able to weather the storm. I was disappointed only to learn that this is the first part of the series of lessons, my living in a place where I have no funds to enable to receive more lessons and information. I enjoyed it immensely and hope to receive more in the future. May Buddha bless you.

Inner Smile ~ Inner Peace ~ Inner Satisfaction Rated 10 out of 10
Hello Folks,

You may wonder about my title. It reflects the discoveries I've made while enjoying the benefits of "Inner Smile" by Michael Winn.

Now a days, it seems more things cause pressure, even sap our precious energy. How about a way to rediscover that energy...that inner happiness, rewarding inner satisfaction, even inner peace while doing it in comfortably in your home.

Well folks, that's what I experienced from Michael's easy to do material in "Inner Smile". In fact, my coworkers and friends have noticed a difference and asked about my new fact they called it peaceful enthusiasm for life and whatever I do. Just smiled while mentioning Michael's "Inner Smile".

Allow your self to experience, or should say.... enjoy a true inner smile then feel the wonderful positive effects that will carry over into other areas of your life and those around you.

Here's to everyone's radiant "Inner Smile"

Simple and Profound Rated 8 out of 10
It's truly refreshing to read an e-book, let alone a free e-book, with such a profound message as the Way of The Inner Smile. Simple as it is effective, Inner Smile practice has had a more effective and immediate impact on my sense of well-being than years of countless other self improvement methods.

How something so incredibly profound is so elusive in American culture, where stress, depression, and "inner frowns" are commonplace, I do not know. What I do know is that I will do my best to share this free e-book with anyone interested in easy, enjoyable, and immediate improvements in well-being.

Thank you Michael Winn.

Empower spiritual change. Embrace The Inner Smile. Rated 10 out of 10
I'm remembering me...!! I'm reaching me....!!!

For many many years I was a Christian. I begged...I pleaded...I searched and searched to find out why I couldn't feel comfortable with myself....why some deep part of me was missing...And in the end the cross emptied me more...

As I've been delving into the inner smile and really getting acquainted with its releasing power and its grasping power...its power power...I've realized something. I can talk with myself. I can empower and charge my internal aspects with the power of choice. I have a unified independence of separate beings in me. How my lungs give me the power to rise up against my my spleen holds me up when all odds are against me. How my pleas to the Christ were but longings to see my true self and bond and trust my inner body spirits that live in unison as dwellers that are the becoming me.

I have an understanding now.And it has a span that reaches every part of me. Every timeless part...every sadness...every fear...every moment of trouble i've ever had...I have access to now. I can release it all. I finally feel able...its a whisper...but i hear the winds of my soul...I have found empowerment...

I just wanted you to know...I'm awake now.

Thank you for listening...for teaching...for being here..for knowing this existence with me...

I'm really glad I am having the chance to be me. I like being here. And as my tears fall...I am thankful........

It's a good thing! Rated 10 out of 10
The book is clearly written and the ideas are well articulated. Of course, the rest is up to the practitioner, both in terms of how they practice and in whether they are able to "see" their inner landscape. Nothing can compare with a knowledgeable teacher and guide and for myself (and I suspect for most people), nothing beats one-on-one instruction. Perhaps this book best serves as an introduction to the teacher himself.

A lot of work in a small book Rated 10 out of 10
I have been a martial artist all my life. Mostly hard styles. I had a brush with Tai Chi when I was 19 but only practiced it for about 3 years. Now that I am far older than that I enjoy energy work as done in Tai Chi and other Chi Gong and Nei Gong practices. I had read some of Mantak Chia's books when I was younger but could never get a handle on them. The chinese phraseology even when translated into english just didn't do it for me. I have had similar problems with chinese practioners with whom I have an understanding gap because they think in chinese and translate to english in phraseology that I have difficulty understanding. I do not have this problem understanding the concepts as put forth my Michael Winn. I am entranced by the Inner Smile. The more I work with it the more disturbing memories I recall for healing. Very, Very Good Stuff. I had wondered why I was not getting the results with Tai Chi that I had when I was much younger. Unfortunately I did not appreciate them sufficiently then. I have much to undo. I will eventually make my way through the whole book. I am a work in progress and this information has turbocharged that progress.

Review title Guide to Inner Smile Practice Rated 10 out of 10
Review contents.Michael Winn's E-Book, Way of the Inner Smile is an easy, fun guide to Inner Smile practice. Without wasting words Winn breaks down the importance of Inner Smile practice to the overall practice of Taoist yoga and he does so in a way that's easy to understand and complete. His command of the subject is thorough and he easily explains the fundamental role Inner Smile.practice plays in the Taoist search for enlightenment. What's more exciting is that he doesn't stop there. He goes on to provide an easy to read, step by step guide to both the internal or yin practice of smiling within and the external or yang practice of smiling to the outside world. Even though the book is an easy read it is so complete that it can be used as a reference guide to Inner Smile practice. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a higher state of being.

The photos and the words gave me many Inner Smiles Rated 8 out of 10
Kudos to Michael for sharing this e-book for free. The pictures he showed also spoke volumes about inner smile. I recorded the last segment on my ipod touch and listened to the inner smile exercise.

The only thing I can say is make the e-book even shorter, if it's possible. Somehow, I associate Tao with brevity, clarity and simplicity.

Thanks for this free download. Keep on Inner Smiling.

Very In-Depth Foundation For Higher Practices Rated 10 out of 10
What this book did for me is provide me with a clear idea for what I am trying to accomplish with the Inner Smile, which is unconditional self-acceptance. It explains it in a really detailed way with plenty of historical backing. This book allows you to get really deep into the inner smile, why it works, and how to approach it. Lots of great photos as well as interesting anecdotes.

the inner smile

The inner smile a.k.a the original face. This book has helped me to become aware of the observer within... the pure non-programmed, non-hypnotized, non- opinionated, non- thinking, full-of-Wonder original self.
The knower of all that is holy and formless and nothing of form; me as a newborn and an infant.
The idea, as I understand it, is to get back to this innocent way of looking at life, without judgement of any type, as an adult... to become holy and wholly aware once more, i.e.,Enlightenment.
From my perspective, well done, Michael!!

Articulate Elaboration on a Universal Theme Rated 9 out of 10
I've been practicing the Inner Smile for stress relief for the better part of a decade, after first reading Chia's Healing through the Tao. I decided I wanted to delve deeper into the possibilities of the meditation, so I did an internet search on Inner Smile, found Michael Winn, and his website. I signed up for the Newsletter to receive the complete Ebook, and read it in a day. Now I will reread it about a hundred times. It is a very well written, articulate, descriptive, and professional elaboration of the Inner Smile meditation, dense with potential applications, interpretations, and examples of the Inner Smile as a universal action & reaction to the complexities of life! :) Thank you.

Not simple enough and polluted by bad marketing & pricing verbiage Rated 5 out of 10
Quoted from the ebook: "my own practice has evolved towards the simple"

I think you could still simplify a lot. Way too much information before the description of the practice. I would prefer a simplified version of the practice first, then some information to deepen the experience, and so on.

It's OK to pay for the books & videos & audios you provide. No problem with that. But don't add the pricing infos in this book. And PLEASE DON'T USE this horrible marketing prose (Save this! That for free! Fabulous deal!).

Hare Krishna Keeps Smiling. Rated 10 out of 10
Way of the Inner Smile is a great book, Everyone should read and practice the inner smile. It addresses the problems of the world and how they originate in the problems of our self.
Although I practice Chanting Hare Krishna daily this little extra spiritual technique is like a pinch of salt added to a delicious dish. Just a garnish, but a most welcome addition to any meal. Variety is the spice of Spiritual life, too. Hare Krishna and Keep smiling!

I've Come Home Rated 10 out of 10
I can't thank you enough for bringing this wonderful practice to light. I've been (trying!) to meditate for the last 20 plus years, always seeking and yearning, knowing that peace is within me but somehow still searching outwardly expecting something to come to me; although, having had the experience of 'oneness' some years ago, knowing that outer seeking is futile. Consequently, I've ended up being too much in my 'head' space. The Inner Smile has taught me to come back to the here and now, the present moment, the peace that was always here even when I was running round looking everywhere else for it! It's an on-going process and I'm not saying that I'm now always in a state of permanent peace and 'far-out bliss' (ha ha!), but I keep having glimpses of the reality of me - and I can't find words to describe or express this, so I won't even try. I'll just say thank you very very much and encourage anyone thinking of dipping into the Way of The Inner Smile to please just do it. Following on from practising the Inner Smile I've now also ordered the Primordial Qigong DVD and have been practising this for about three weeks now. This is the first time in my many years of seeking that I've found a practise that I just can't wait to do. I finally feel my 'chi', I feel and sense the aliveness in it and recognise it as a real part of my authentic 'self' and the 'whole'. I'm not the sort of person who would usually wax lyrical about something but I know I've finally found the practise I've been yearning for, I feel like I've come home and I'm so grateful. I know I've only dipped my toe in so far and am, therefore, very excited about what's to come and look forward to deepening my whole experience. Once again, thank you so very much.

Great concept, well presented intro to Taoist Meditation Practice Rated 9 out of 10
As a long time meditator (mostly free-form visualization with knowledge of various disciplines and modalities) I really found this book to be an excellent framing for channeling love and self-acceptance consciously toward oneself, one's body, and the world around one.

The Taoist body-view with the 5 organs etc. could use a bit more of an overarching explanation, you have to sort of gather the concepts one by one while you work through the meditation guideline in the book, but the anecdotes, the overall process, and the underlying message are all very valuable and accessibly presented to both novice and experienced audiences.

Well done! Caught a number of grammatical errors which could use correcting.

One of the best pragmatic and practical books written on daoist meditation I have ever read. A game changer for me. I met Michael Winn during a retreat in the Catskills years back, and he is electric! I've read it twice already, and will doubtless keep going back to it as the years go by. Thank you healing Tao.

"The Inner Smile" provides another important part of the puzzle.

Although I've been aware of Mantak Chia's works for years, I have not incorporated his style into my practice. I have, however, used other versions of the Five Animal Sports and the Six Healing Sounds. When leading tai chi classes I incorporate the animal and sound of the appropriate season into my lessons--as "seasoning" to spice things up.

When I listened to your recent interview with "The Lama Guy" I felt that you had a lot of serious angles to consider. So I downloaded this book.
"The Inner Smile" technique was immediately useful. For me it enhanced my ability to actually feel Qi in the Dantiens--making Qi much more tangible. I do self acupressure on myself daily--by smiling into each point as well as physically massaging each (yep, 400 points every day) the smile connects points along the whole meridian and the lower Dantiens and the central channel.
I'm now smiling into everything--even the fish sandwich I had today.
I also teach tai chi to people with Parkinson's. The disease makes facial muscles rigid. Then they lose the volume in their voices. Physically putting a smile on their faces is an antidote--they busted up looking at the photo of the 90 year-old Swiss women's weathered smile.
And personally, I gave an inner smile to the inner self of my wife. It was shocking to realize that this was the first time in over 50 years that I genuinely smiled at her.
So I ordered your Qigong Fundamentals 1 on the Five Animals/Six Healing Sounds.
In the video you added so much to my understanding of The Five Animals even though I use different animals for the five phases. And you suggest so many more uses for the Healing Sounds and Inner Smile.
But I guess I'm not an audio learner. I continually zonk out during your lectures and then I have to restart from the beginning of the CD. The CD format is unkind for me; I've become very dependent on mobile friendly formats. Using a non-portable CD player is a bummer. I'd like to get the audios on iBook or eBook or MP3. I suppose I could transcribe them myself--but that's a lot of data.

Nevertheless I'm very grateful for your diligent presentations.

Dear Mr. Winn,
It was continuous flow of ancient wisdom expressing the Chinese Smiles.
Harmony must have a end to a sequel that will unravel subtle keys. If your not a book writter, than who is? Only thing that bugled me was the Inner Sex Alchemy.
